When you send a parcel from Hyderabad to the UK, Canada or Dubai, a few documents keep it moving through customs on both sides. Most personal parcels need only simple paperwork. Here is what we usually ask for, and what each country’s official sites say.
Documents for almost every international parcel from India
- Sender’s ID proof (KYC): a copy of your Aadhaar, passport or PAN card. Courier exports from India are declared electronically under CBIC’s courier regulations, and the sender’s identity is part of that declaration.
- Receiver’s details: full name, complete address with postcode, and a working phone number (and email if possible).
- Contents list / invoice: every item with quantity and a fair value, for example “3 cotton kurtas”, “2 kg sweets”. Mark gifts as gifts.
- For business shipments: a commercial invoice, and the exporter’s IEC and GST details where they apply.
Sending to the UK
GOV.UK explains that gifts sent to the UK above a certain value can attract import VAT, and Customs Duty above a higher value; the receiver may have to pay these before delivery. Declare the true value and describe gifts clearly. Food and medicines have their own rules; read our guides on food parcels and medicines. More on our courier to UK service.
Sending to Canada
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has a page on importing goods by courier, including how duty and taxes are handled. Health Canada says residents are generally not permitted to import prescription drugs by mail or courier, so check with us before sending any medicines. See courier to Canada.
Sending to Dubai (UAE)
For personal parcels to Dubai, a clear contents list, the receiver’s full address and a UAE mobile number are the key details. Medicines for personal use need an e-permit from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). See courier to Dubai.
Sending only documents?
Papers such as certificates and letters are usually the simplest shipments. Put them in a waterproof sleeve inside the envelope and keep a photocopy. We send document courier to the countries we serve.
We’ll check your papers
Send us a WhatsApp message with the destination and what you are sending. We will tell you exactly which documents to keep ready, then pick up from your home in Hyderabad.
Not sure about your parcel?
Send us a photo or list of what you want to send and the country. We’ll tell you what can go and share the price on WhatsApp.
